What can I expect from a character visit?

Our characters come to your party in full costume and in character from the moment they arrive.  They will bring all materials with them (unless otherwise specified) to entertain your kids for the alloted time.  You can expect that they will, for the most part, run the party while they are there.  Some parents use this opportunity to take video or watch the performance while other like to have some adult time in the other room.  Either way is fine with us, just make sure an adult is close by at all times as we are not responsible for disciplining any child that may get roudy or disruptive.  

What venues work best for a character party?

Our performers are skilled at working in a variety of envirnoments however the most common venues are private homes, parks and community clubhouses.  We have done parties at Chuck E Cheese, and other restaurants, kids gyms, and play centers as well as tea rooms.  All of these venues offer pros and cons.  The more private the venue, the more direct attention the character will have with your guests.  If you would like to discuss your venue option with us, please call 858-945-6864.

Can I request a specific performer?

Certainly!  If you saw a performer in person or in a photo you may request them.  Keep in mind however, that performers are booked on a first come first serve basis as well as based on their individual availability.  

How far in advance do I need to book a party?

Our recommendation is to reserve your date, time and character at least 4 weeks in advance of your party date to ensure the character/date/time is available.  However, we do schedule parties up until the day before your party date if we have availability so don't be afraid to call us last minute.  We do charge a $25 RUSH FEE for any party booked within 1 week of the party date.

How do I make a reservation?

You can make a reservation with us by fillling out our online reservation form, emailing us directly at partiesunique@gmail.com or calling our office at 858-945-6864.  Office hours are between 5pm-8pm M-F.  To complete your reservation we require a 50% non-refundable deposit to reserve your character, date and time.

Do I give the performer gratuity?

Yes, if you feel your performer met or exceeded your expectations during their performance and interaction with your party guests then please feel free to give your performer gratuity.  It is not required or expected but always much appreciated by our hard working performers.  You may give any gratuity to the performer in cash before they leave the party venue.

What if more kids show up than I planned?

If more kids show up that you had planned and you need more time you can always ask your performer to extend you party time in 30 minute increments for an additional $30.  Although we always try to prepare for a few extra kids, if your party package comes with take aways for party guests such as a craft or goody bags, the performer may not have extra on hand.

What if I have to change the date or cancel my party?

We understand that life is not always planned.  If you need to change your party date let use know as soon as possible and we will try our best to accommodate you based on our availability.  All changes must be submitted in writing via email and confirmed by our staff.  Changes to party dates are not permitted within 5 days of the party date.  If you need to cancel your party completely, you can do so but will lose your non-refundable deposit.
